Peer Mentors Needed

Peer Mentors Needed

The philosophy peer mentoring program is intended to provide both advice (e.g., managing coursework, planning degree completion, choosing professors to work with) and social support, especially for those new students who will soon move to New York. We need 5-10 volunteers to participate as mentors. As a mentor, you’d be asked to:
-Give advice on living in New York
-Attend the new students welcome party the first week of Fall semester
-Attend a get-together for all mentors and mentees in mid-September
-Make yourself available for advice as your mentee asks for it

If you’re interested in being a mentor, please email Carolyn Plunkett by Friday, June 28th. Please Include your philosophical interests and anything else you think relevant in your email.

Each mentor will be assigned one or two mentees based on similarities that emerge. If you have any questions, please contact Carolyn or Amanda Byrant, 2012/2013 student representatives to the Student & Alumni Affairs Committee. Thanks in advance for your support and participation!Cheers,

Carolyn and Amanda
