Ben Abelson & Massimo Pigliucci Interviewed in the APA Blog

Alumnus Ben Abelson and Professor Massimo Pigliucci were each recently interviewed by Skye Cleary in the American Philosophical Association’s APA Blog.

Both Abelson and Pigliucci participated in the Night of Philosophy and Ideas, a massive all-night public celebration of philosophy at the Brooklyn Public Library in January 2017.
Other participants from CUNY Philosophy included alumni (Joseph S. Biehl, Gregg D. Caruso, Rachel Ann McKinney, and James Rowe) and current PhD students (Dana Grabelsky. Julia Kolak, and Ian Olasov).

Topics covered in Cleary’s interviews of Abelson and Pigliucci include the philosophers’ approaches to addressing a challenging ethical problem with a large and diverse audience, audience reactions to and engagement with their presentations, the benefits of public philosophy events, and their overall impressions of the event.
