Join the Graduate Center’s own John D. Greenwood for a celebration of the life, loves, and poetry of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national bard. Greenwood will dramatize Burns’s career from ploughman and poet to exciseman and song collector by presenting extracts from his notebooks and letters, and a selection of his poetry. The poems will include such classics as “Holy Willie’s Prayer,” “To a Mouse,” “Address to a Haggis,” “Tam O’ Shanter,” and “A Man’s a Man for A’ That,” as well as some lesser known gems. John D. Greenwood is a native Scot who was educated at the Universities of Edinburgh and Oxford, and is a faculty member of the Ph.D. Program in Philosophy at the Graduate Center.
